From building overhangs to open windows to a neatly arranged viewing point from street level, dozens of onlookers enjoyed watching the final beam — blazing blue in the afternoon sun — complete a building topping ceremony for the Nu Skin Innovation Center Monday in downtown Provo.
The beam's installation marked the halfway point of the building's progress. As two construction workers nestled high in the jungle of metal beams guided the final piece into place, the sound of camera shutters rose to a frenzy.
"When you combine what's happening here on the campus and with what's going on in Provo, people are noticing that Provo is taking on a new shape," Hunt said. "This campus will be part of what will be a very vibrant downtown business environment."
The building, slated for completion in summer 2013, has already undergone more than 120,000 hours of labor. Daily Herald
